Spring is well under way. Lawns are waking up and the invasive weeds that compete with your lawn for water and nutrients are also appearing. The most effective thing you can do to keep your lawn free of weeds is grow a healthy lawn. That means food (fertilizer) water and proper mowing. Having said that, some weeds will appear in the best lawn and we're working hard to get to all of our customers to help get and keep those weeds under control. There are a few things you should keep mind when your weed control application has been applied. It can take a few hours or days for the weeds to look like they have been affected by the weed control. This depends mostly on the weather. The hotter and dryer the weather and your lawn, the longer it takes for the product to work. Please be patient. Once the weeds are dead, it can take up to a week or so for the plants to completely decompose and disappear. Now comes the interesting bit. As long as your lawn is doing well, fertilized, watered and mowed properly, weeds will take some time to reappear. However, if your lawn is thin, weak and dry, weeds will reappear relatively quickly, say three to four weeks. Essentially, if you have a weak thin lawn to begin with and you only use weed control, you will still have a weak thin lawn, just with fewer weeds, and new weeds will appear soon.
If however, your lawn is well fed, properly irrigated it will healthy and thick. This makes it difficult for invasive weeds to get started. In the event that weeds aren't properly controlled your weed control program includes touch-up applications as needed. Just let us know. See you soon.
